How To Get Mixtapes On Itunes

As you may already know Itunes is the biggest platform to download and stream music from. As of 2014 CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple has nearly 800 million iTunes accounts. In June of 2013, iTunes had about 575 million accounts.

Since this is such a big platform to sell your music from rap artists want to use it to their advantage. There are many artist who upload albums and singles but also want to put their mixtapes on itunes for sale, but don’t know how to.

Below is a straight to the point method on how to upload your mixtapes to Itunes. Keep in mind that if you are an artist and just want to upload your mixtape to Itunes, just do so like you would with an album or single. For this you need a third party aggregator like CDBaby or TuneCore. This is for those who want to add a released mixtape to their Itunes play list.

 
Here’s 11 steps to transferring a mixtape to Itunes

 
 
1) Find a reputable mixtape website that is hosting the mixtape you want to download

2) Some sites are Datpiff, Livemixtapes, Mixtape Monkey, and Spinrilla. Click the link to check out the rest of the Top Mixtape Websites

3) Search for the name of the artist and mixtape you want to download on the site

4) Click on the download button to download mixtape to your computer

5) Go to your folder library and find the zipped folder of the mixtape

6) Open the zipped folder and inside you will see the open folder of your mixtape, then Copy the open folder.

7) After copying the open folder of your mixtape from your downloads library, go to your music library and paste the open folder. You’re doing this because iTunes does not support zipped folders.

8) Open your iTunes and look for the mixtape folder under “My Music” located at the top left corner

9) Next click on the “Add Tab To Library” or press CTRL+O

10) After clicking the “add file to library” option, iTunes will automatically open your folder library. Go back to the music library, find your mixtape and click the “open” button. If the library closes and iTunes reappears then ignore the next step.

11) Sometimes when you click the “open” button, it actually opens the folder instead of adding it to iTunes. If this happens then all you have to do is select all of the inner contents of the folder and click the “open” button again.
