Your Music Career Will Flop If You Avoid Doing This One Thing

music funding and pomotionsIn order to launch and have a successful music career you’re going to have to continuously invest in it. When I say invest in it, I mean not only put in time and effort, but also fund it. One of the things I’ve found that up and coming rap artists aren’t unwilling to do is pay a reputable promotions company to effectively promote their music.

A lot of up and coming hip hop artists want to do all the promotion and marketing of their music all by themselves, but the problem is they have no idea what they’re doing! You see promoting your music is a science, it’s not as easy as uploading your music to Soundcloud or hotnewhiphop.com or even itunes, and having instant download success. It’s more than just uploading your music video to Vimeo or Youtube, because if new rap artists became successful by doing that alone, then we would definitely have way more successful up and coming rappers, and you already know that’s not the case.

In order to take you music career to the next level you are without a doubt going to have to pay to get it there. Nothing in the BUSINESS of music is for free. You’re going to find out real soon that in the majority of cases you’re going to have to pay for radio play, magazine features, music blog features, press releases, interviews etc. Guys it’s just the nature of the game NOTHING IS FOR FREE! And if you’re serious about becoming big and have the talent to go along with you, you have to invest in your music.

Not only that but when it comes to promotion and marketing of your music, what you par for is what you get. You can not expect to pay $30 or $100 and expect to get huge results! It just doesn’t work that way. In order to get big results you have to pay big cash. $1,000 -$5,000 can get you some good results; that type of money can get you decent exposure.

One thing I never really understood about most of the up and coming rap artists, is that they rap about have loads of money and buying expensive things, but when it comes buying a promo package they say they are broke lol. If that is really the case then you need to go and find a job so you can pay for studio time, equipment, and promotional and marketing services. If you can’t find a job then get a loan from a family member of friend. or you can even sell a few pair of those $200 Jordan’s that you have!

Once you start putting out quality music and you start distributing your music to the right media platforms, you will start getting paid. But of course make sure you are signed up to a Performing Rights Organization and Sound Exchange

A few other things you need to invest in is quality instrumentals, frequent studio time, photo shoots, magazine and music blog features and write ups, and yes even sometimes radio and club spins. You have to pay for the whole package. you are putting together an image that you have to sell to your fans, and in order for them to buy into and give you their hard earn cash, the package has to be put together in the right way.
