Jay Newz
Born in Virginia on July 6, 1988. Jonathan Pearson aka “ Jay Newz” is an upcoming artist whose is currently based out of the Twin Cities, MN. He entered the music business looking to be unique and his music sets him apart from other artists because he promotes/makes feel good music that you can vibe to and doesn’t condone violence or talk about gangs.
The music is more hip-hop than rap. Rapping started off as just a thing to do in my past time, also as an release for the turmoil around me, what started off as an hobby blossomed into a career path and he felt he could impact the music industry or maybe influence or inspire others to do the same. Soon after he began work, his first official mix tape called “The Fly Ones.” It was released on Nov. 14th, 2012.
It was available online as a digital download, also other features consisting of L.A/ Bay area rappers. To his surprise it was well received amongst the people and he received favorable reviews from them. After garnering feedback from the “The Fly Ones” mix tape, he was elated and currently is working diligently on his newest mix tape called “ Champagne Wishes & Caviar Dreams EP.” Showcasing his talents as being the main focus of the mix tape, It should be due out mid/ late 2013. As a currently unsigned artist, he hopes to use these mix tapes as a gateway that will lead to lucrative offers from records labels.
Already an established artist in Minnesota, he has songs on the radio and in Night Clubs. By the buzz he has already begun to generate he seeks to be a well-known artist in the Midwest and eventually across the U.S. He isn’t someone who is bound limitations and hopes his music will lead to other avenues such as a clothing line. As his brand begins to expand and begins to become more relevant among the mainstream, he will be hard at work and continue to strive for excellence.
