Jay Yola
Jay Yola’s path began in Detroit, Michigan, by a single mother who later left and raised him in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. At the young age of 10.
He discovered he had an inspirational voice that needed to be heard. After years of looking up to his idols and listening to their music he decided to also follow his passion for his music. Though still learning in a learning stage he started his rap career freshman year in high school. His decision to seriously follow his dreams came to a turning point when he got caught up with the wrong crowd, and realized music is an outlet.
Over time Jay worked hard on his street promotion, but later gained internet buzz through social networking. His ‘YouTube’ page along had 4,553 subscribers. In late 2009 Jay Yola created Stakk Money with longtime friend Easton Gray III aka ‘Deuce’, then founded Kush Society or Suicide in early 2011.
In the early half of the year on April 28, 2011 he released his debut mixtape ‘Fully Loaded’, which received over 6, 850 streams on Datpiff.com. The musical versatility ranges from energetic club scenes to motivational, meaningful and uplifting music. Currently attending Elizabethtown. Community and Technical College for Computer Software, he plan to follow his passion and stayed prepared for anything to come.
