Maticulous

Maticulous was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He began messing with the idea of hip hop and freestyling in 1997. In 1999, he met his future business partner, JP. “At first, we couldn’t stand each other.

Then one night I had a party and while having a freestyle session, JP cut me off and started spitting. His word play and delivery grabbed my attention and we’ve pretty much been best friends ever since.” -Maticulous. JP and Maticulous created Hoodiestyle.

Their motto, Get Affiliated. After moving to California in 2006, Maticulous released his first retail ready album entitled “MySpace Me”. With a growing fan base, Maticulous was handpicked as the top 3 Latin artists in California by Jose Cuervo for thier “Cuervoton” Competition in 2007 with his “MySpace Me” Anthem single off his debut album.

Cuervoton was headlined by artists like PitBull, Nina Sky, and Chingo Bling to name a few. Selling 3,000 copies independently, without distribution, etc. Maticulous began working on his next release self-titled “Maticulous” which was released in 2008.

Maticulous’ buzz reached higher levels with his hit single “Tat’d Up” which had over 256,000 votes/spins on 102.3 KIIS FM in Los Angeles website in the Discover Music category. In 2009, with everyday life taking grab, Maticulous decided to take a break from the music scene and concentrate on his family until early 2011 when Maticulous and JP regrouped and released “Push Down And Turn” The Mixtape. “We decided it was time to get back into the swing of things and I’m glad we did.” -Maticulous.

After releasing their second mixtape in 2012 entitled “Sleepy Hollow”, JP and Maticulous started working on a studio album, untitled as of yet. “This album has to be our best, I told JP that we have to look at this as our only chance. With that mentality, the possibilities are endless! Our music speaks for itself and it’s so hard to try and describe our style to people we meet on the street when we are out giving our music out or selling cds.” -Maticulous.

With production from Drifter at PC Muzik, SuperStar O, 14K, Royal Audio Tunes and more, this album is sure to be a favorite amongst all of JP and Maticulous’ fans and everyone else who gets to hear it.
