Nef The Damaja (Nefarious)

I’m going to top off the week by showcasing an amazing hip hop producer.

This producer does hip hop beats but he specializes specifically in creating soulful beats. And let me tell you he’s extremely good at what he does.

This music producers name is Nefarious aka Nef The Damaja. He’s from the Bay Area and has been producing beats for a couple of years now. I was introduced to his beats by one of my friends “Ron Ron” who is a music producer out of New Jersey. The first time I listened to Nef The Damaja was back in 2009, and I’m just as impressed today as I was back then with the way he arranges his soul beats.

Some people think that soul beats are easy to create, but that’s not true. It’s more than just diggin in the crates for a well known oldie and throwing a baseline and drum kicks over it. In order to create a soul beat that will move people you have to be instrumentally inclined. Meaning you have to know which parts of a record your going to sample and how you’re going to arrange them so that it’s pleasing to the ear!

Nef certainly knows how to do this as you will see. And the most amazing thing about Nef is that he’s only in his early 20’s! Nefarious definitely has plenty of time to grow, mature, and gain experience as a hip hop producer. Nef The Damaja is not only about producing beats he’s also a young businessman that is making money off of the instrumentals he creates.

Nef owns his own music production company called The Soul Dojo and he sells all of his beats off of his own website. This young entrepreneur/music producer has a bright future a head of him if he keeps pushing forward the way he’s doing now, and makes a great effort to properly market his music.
