Maino-not charged in irving-plaza shooting

Yesterday the NYPD has cleared New York indie veteran rapper Maino of  any involvement of the concert shooting at Irving Plaza; that left one man dead and three people injured including his model girlfriend, Maggie Carrie Heckstall.

The night was a night of entertainment and fun but turned into a fatal shooting. The shooting occurred in the green room area at the club. The alleged shooter was none other than Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave, who also reportedly shot himself in the leg during the melee. His bodyguard and longtime friend, Ronald McPhatter, was also shot in the stomach and later died at the hospital.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said on Thursday (June 2) “We do not believe that he (Maino) was involved in the dispute.”

Maino feeling relieved of the whole situation took to Instagram to prove his innocence in a repost of the news story. He captioned a screenshot of the article with “Now lets get back to the music…HeardU.”

Troy Ave’s manager, Hovain, has also denied Maino’s involvement saying, “And stop letting the media tell ya’ll a story of fantasy we never had no problems with @mainohustlehard,” he said on Instagram.
