Corey Fila
Corey Fila was born in Toronto, Ontario and grew up listening to all sorts of music. But as far as rap is concerned some of his influences are Jay-Z, Cormega, and Stack Bundles.
Corey Fila grew up listening to rap music but only started rapping in high school, and he said his main reason for starting was the birth of his daughter Sanai. He says that her birth changed his life forever and he wanted to take the right steps towards making sure she had a secure future. What better way to accomplish that by going after your dreams and making it come true, so you can generate the type of income that sees that her future is secure.
Corey also mentions that his mother is a major influence in his life and that he wants to rap to provide for her also, to see that she retires early.
When you listen to Fila’s songs you can hear the hunger in his rhymes something you can’t say about a lot of artist that are coming up in the rap game right now. His delivery is strong and he has a street east coast style. His rhymes are heavily written about the street life and the type of environment he grew up in, but the songs are not over saturated with hardcore violence. I would like to see him switch it up a little and do different concepts of songs to see how good those turn out.
