Hollow Da Don (Biography)

This next rapper that I’m showcasing is more known for his rap battle skills. Up until he stopped battling about a year or two ago he dominated the battle rap arena, and gained respect as one of the best battle rappers out at that time.

The rapper that I’m talking about is none other than Hollow Da Don or Hollow Da Da-da-da Don as he would say lol. Hollow was born in Brooklyn New York but raised in Queens. When he was 14 years old he moved to Atlanta, then one year later he moves to Houston, Texas. Right now he travels back and forth from Houston to Queens trying to make the right connections to advance his music career.

Hollow Da Don was a straight beast when he use to battle, he made battle rapping look easy, which we all know isn’t. He was well known for his lyrics, wordplay, sarcasm, and most of all his aggressive delivery. He would often swing his arms up and down when delivering a punch line, and beat on his chest and say “I’m the da-da-da Don” and the crowd would go crazy! They cheered because that was his signature move and they knew he was in beast mode right after that!

I don’t think that he lacked anything as a battle rapper, he took on every rapper that was recognized as being good and in my opinion he won the majority of them! Some of the paid rap battles that he won, he was awarded anywhere from $2,000-$15,000. And keep in mind that at that time he was maybe only 22 years old doing it, that’s a lot of money for a kid that age. But he earned every penny of it. He was even B.E.T’s 106 & Park Freestyle Friday Champion so he has respect internationally as a major head in battle rap.

Right now Hollow Da Don just wants to focus on putting out songs and building his music career. He has a few mixtapes out with his team LOM (Loyalty Over Money) and is working towards putting together an LP. EI’m going to continue to watch out for him and support his music and movement because he really has a bright future a head of him. i hope he stays focus and make goo music and hopefully a major label will pick him up. Drake already co-signed him saying he has mad talent, so we’ll just have to see what happens.
