Jay-Z’s Tidal Faces More Problems

Man I love Jay-Z as an artist and some what of a business man, but his new business venture Tidal is taking loss after loss. in my opinion this venture wasn’t researched or executed properly. At the launch everyone was confused as to why a bunch of millionaires were standing on the stage representing the company, yet Jay-Z was telling us more money will go into the pockets of independent artists.

Next there was the firing of their CEO, then Jay-Z’s freestyle diss to Spotify, which he suggests that white people don’t support Tidal because he’s a black man who own the company. Then we find out the majority of his employees are white. Smh

Now I present to you another L that jay-Z and his company Tidal has to endure. According to Bloomberg, Sony and Warner want Tidal to pay money for the right to stream artists from their labels. And guess who one of their biggest artist is? None other than Beyoncé! Who is one of Tidal’s “artist owners.” Sony didn’t give any specifics on the royalties that should be paid out to them, but made it clear that if Tidal doesn’t start paying they have the right to pull Beyonce’s and their other artist’s songs from the streaming company. Ouch!

We’ll keep you posted on what happens but man none of this is looking good for the Jigga man. I hope he pulls through but it seems like he wants to take the PR in his ownjigga, rocnation, jayz, tidal, stream services hands instead of hiring professionals to address the issues. The launch was poor and in a way I as well as others still don’t fully understand Tidal as a whole. Anyhow we’ll see where the company goes from here.
