Kendrick Lamar’s New Album Debuts At #1

Alright this is the moment hip hop fans have been waiting for. The first week sales numbers are in for Kendrick Lamar’s new album “To Pimp A Butterfly. And although it didn’t reach the 1 million sales goal set by the TDE president(And in the minds of many hip hop heads) it’s off to a great start. The album sold 318,988 copies in its first week, not including streams.

I did think it would of sold at least half a mill it’s first week but being a little shy of 2000,000 under that is pretty good. This shows that people are really supporting good music. This album To Pim A Butterfly has also landed Kendrick his first #1 album on the Billboard Hot 200; Good Kid, M.A.A.D City debuted at #2 back in 2012.
