Mac Miller Earns First-Ever Grammy Nomination
Mac Miller fans are raving with excitement. Almost three months after Mac Miller’s untimely death at age 26, the rapper earned his very first Grammy nomination on Friday (Dec. 7), nabbing a best rap album nod for his August release Swimming.
Miller’s final LP came out on Aug. 3 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Swimming returned to the top 10 following his death in September, vaulting 71-6 on the chart. In the intro track “Come Back to Earth,” Miller sets a positive tone for the project, rapping, “I was drowning, but now I’m swimming.” The album’s three singles were “Small Worlds,” “Self Care” and “What’s the Use?”
