The Presidenz
Consisting of two very hard working young men from different parts of the country who incorporate all musical genres, The Presidentz are sure to make the industry take notice.
Matt Heist from Ventura, CA has been a studio rat for most of his life. Finding a way to put himself amongst some of the hottest producers that California has to offer since the mere age of 14. He has always known that music was in his future. Whether it be spinning “wax” at a school function, or “banging” out beats on his beat machine. Music has always been in his blood. Heist is an accomplished pianist and a monster on the MPC. Consistently blending his smooth style Cali production style with his love for the East coast hit driven uptempo sound. Matt Heist is sure to make the industry take notice and will make sure that “The Presidentz” are a force to be reckoned with.
Gutta Rock from Far Rockaway, Queens, has always had a true love for music. With many of his family members already entrenched in the music industry, it wasn’t a very hard decision when he decided to buy his first MPC. Gutta Rock is a very innovative and creative producer. Constantly bringing in musicians to the studio to play live instruments over his hard hitting beats and finding creative ways to fuse his gritty New York style drum patterns with the smooth fresh sound of live instruments. Gutta Rock has developed that winning sound and will continue to find new exotic ways to bring The Presidentz to the forefront.
In July 2006, The Presidentz made history by entering Rocwilder’s production tournament on RocBattle.com. As a result, they became the first producers to win the tournament crowning them the Grand Champions. This led to them earning an article in Scratch magazine and becoming the official members of Rocwilder’s beat gang. Consequently Rocwilder deemed them as “the craziest producers on this side of the planet.”
The Presidenz have solidified respect in the industry as producers by working with top caliber artists such as: DMX, Lil Kim, The Outlawz, The Game, Dipset, Young buck, OJ Da Juiceman, Nipsey Hussle, Dogg Pound, and Dream. They have also done score credits with Viacom Networks, and HBO pictures. It’s fair to see that these two talented producers are creating a legacy that will be indelible, and if they keep it up they will be ranked amaongst some of the greatest producers within the industry. Look out for them!
