Hip Hop’s Wealthiest Artists (Forbes Five)

Recently Forbes Magazine listed the top 5 richest hip hop artists of today.

This list is not to be confused with Forbes’ annual Hip Hop Cash Kings List, instead this was a more exclusive list of hip-hop’s wealthiest moguls.

These top five hip-hop moguls have a combined net worth of over a billion dollars and by the looks of it they show no signs of slowing down.

P. Diddy – In first place is last years number one earner on the Forbes’ Hip-Hop Cash Kings list P. Diddy. P. Diddy is a world renown hip hop mogul that currently boasts a net worth of $550 Million. P.Diddy’s Bad Boy records have been selling millions of records for the past 15 years and now that he has signed amongst others two of the most in demand artists right now to his label; Machine Gun Kelly and French Montana, it looks like he’ll be seeing millions more as a owner of the label.

Diddy also has other business ventures such as being the spokesperson for Ciroc Vodka which is owned by Diageo PLC. Diddy has signed a multi year deal to be the spokes person of Ciroc Vodka for a 50% share in profits!

P.Diddy also ownes restaurant chains, clothing lines Sean Jean and Enyce`, and also a marketing firm called Blu Flame. He’s also looking to venture into a cable TV station deal with Camcast which can put him into the Billionaire mark!

Jay- Z – Second on the list is Jay-z who’s net worth is $460 Million. Jay-Z sold his Roc-A-Wear clothing line back in 2007 for $204 Million but he still remains on the board of directors to help promote and contribute ideas to the brand. In 2008 he signed a 10 year deal with music promotion and booking agency powerhouse Live Nation for $150 Million. He also owns a sports bar (40/40) stakes in the NBA team New Jersey Nets, and an Advertising firm Translation.

Jay -Z is definitely a great business man has is showing no signs of slowing down his progress.

Dr. Dre – Third on the list is Dr. Dre with a net worth of $270 Million. He owns one of the most profitable and respected record labels Aftermath, last year company THC bought a 51% stake in a company he helped build called Beat Electronics for $300 Million. And we all know how crazy his headphone Beats by Dre is selling.

Birdman & 50 Cent – Fouth on the list is Birdman with a net of $125 million. and in fifth place is none other than the Street King himself 50 Cent who has a net of $110 Million.

It’s a race to be the first hip hop billionaire, and even though P.Diddy is the closest one to achieving that goal, anything can happen. We’ll just have to wait and see what other business ventures these men will take on in the coming years that will make them even more money!!!
