D – Why

The 23-year-old rap artist D-WHY (born David Morris) has been creating an online buzz with innovative remixes, diverse musical taste, and a refined fashion sense.

Hailing from West Virginia, D-WHY started writing songs and performing in 2005. Upon his graduation from West Virginia University in Summer 2009, he moved to Brooklyn, NY to spread his wings and pursue a career in music.

In addition, his remix to rapper Wiz Khalifa’s smash single “Black & Yellow” has brought about even more attention for the aspiring musician. The song alone garnered 40,000 plays. While the Brooklyn-shot music video for the remix (dubbed “Devil Horns To All”) has garnered over 40,000 views on Youtube.

D-WHY’s highly anticipated mixtape “Don’t Flatter Yourself” is due out early 2011 and will feature an eclectic taste in songs. A mix of hip-hop, pop, alternative, and indie music, the budding artist stays in a creative space so he is, “free to explore”.
