Does The Audiomack Platform Pay Artists?

Yes, artists get paid through the Audiomack Monetization Program after they have been authenticated as an artist.

Getting authenticated requires users to reach a minimum requirement before being eligible to submit an application to the Audiomack team. Authentication is strictly for creators.

Users who are uploading music they are not the creator of, or rights holder to, are not eligible for authentication.

Minimum threshold requirements before applying:

1. Have at least two (2) uploads
2. Have at least 25 followers

How much Audiomack pays an artist depends on a variety of factors. As it is written in their privacy policy and terms of service which I’ve quoted below.

“Audiomack will calculate “Revenue Per Stream” (A “Stream” being content played for Thirty (30) seconds or longer, for the complete definition of “Stream” please see Section 22(k) below) by taking the sum of all monies received by Audiomack from all Advertisements (minus Actual Costs) and all Subscriptions (minus all Actual Costs) and dividing that number by the number of total Stream’s on the Audiomack platform in a calendar month.”

 

It also goes on the say in section B and C that you as a shareholder of the song (owner of the song) will be paid based on the number of Streams per song multiplied by the Revenue Per Stream which is then multiplied by the AMP Revenue Share.

Then it goes on to say that the “Amp Revenue Share” is Fifty (50%) Percent.

So here’s the breakdown of your pay. Audiomack calculates your Revenue Per Stream by taking all advertisements and the subscriptions to the website, and divides it by the total song streams in a calendar month.

So for example if Audiomack generates $10,000 in advertisements and subscriptions for a particular calendar month, and has a total of 10 Million streams (10,000,000) the Revenue Per Stream for that particular month will be one tenth of one cent, which is $0.001.

Remember you get 50% of the AMP Revenue Share. So if your monetized content (songs) in that same month generates 100,000 streams, in order to calculate your AMP Revenue amount, you would have to multiple your streams (100,000) by your Revenue Per Stream (0.001) which will come out to $100. Your take home pay of that would be $50.

You also get additional revenue from your Performing Rights Organization and Mechanical Royalties Organization if Audiomack makes an agreement with them to collect song and performance royalties on your behalf.
